I have always obsessed with reinventing organizations – products, processes, business models.

But today I want to talk about something entirely different.

YOU.

Yes, reinventing you.

So often I get a question: All of these stuff about the speed of change sounds right on the money, but how does it apply to me, personally?

What can I do to reinvent myself?

Where can I start – TODAY?

The surprising answer is that you need to start by stopping. You get your creative juices going by slowing down. You need to get bored.

Yes, bored!

It turns out boredom is a very sophisticated management tool.

So, how does it work exactly?

New research out of the Research School of Management at Australian National University showed that when we get people bored, our level of creativity increases – in both quality and quantity.

The study is so good that I actually made a whole new 5-minute videoabout it:

Reinventing yourself doesn’t have to be hard work.

If anything, I suggest you start with the exact opposite – and get yourself a good serving of boredom.
